Goal-Focused Support & Skill Building
in the Illawarra
Set practical goals, then work toward them together: independence, routines, confidence and life skills.

This is the support I enjoy most. It starts with a question: what do you want to be able to do that you cannot do yet, or cannot do easily? Cook a meal from scratch. Catch the bus on your own. Manage your own budget. Get back to a hobby. Feel confident answering the door.
Then we break that goal into small, achievable steps and work through them together, one visit at a time. Progress is measured in real outcomes, not paperwork.
Setting goals that matter
Goals work when they are yours. In our first conversations we look at what you want your week to look like, what is getting in the way, and what would make the biggest difference. If you have an NDIS plan, we line the goals up with it so the support is funded properly and the progress is easy to report.
Building skills through doing
Skills stick when they are practised in real life. So instead of talking about cooking, we cook. Instead of explaining public transport, we catch the bus together until you are ready to do it alone. Each step is a little more independent than the last, and the support steps back as your confidence steps up.
Confidence and routine
Many goals are really about confidence: feeling able to handle a situation rather than avoiding it. Consistency helps here more than anything. Working with the same person, at a steady pace, with honest encouragement, lets confidence grow without pressure.
Reviewing progress
We check in regularly on how things are going, celebrate what has been achieved, and adjust the plan when life changes. Families and carers are kept in the loop where you want them to be.
Every visit can include
- A clear, written goal plan in plain English
- Practical skill practice: cooking, budgeting, transport, communication
- Step-by-step routines that build independence
- Confidence building through real-life situations
- Regular progress check-ins and plan adjustments
- Support notes aligned with your NDIS goals, if you have a plan
How it works
Getting started is simple.
Build your plan
A short questionnaire covers your needs, goals, routines and preferences. Fill it in privately or together, whichever feels more comfortable.
Align expectations
We have a relaxed conversation to clarify the details, answer your questions, and make sure we're both clear on what good support looks like for you.
Ongoing support
Support starts, one-on-one, with clear communication and the flexibility to adjust as your needs change over time.
Questions
About this support.
What if I am not sure what my goals are?
That is completely normal. We start by talking about what a good week looks like and what frustrates you now. Goals usually become obvious from there.
How is this different from daily living support?
Daily living support helps you get through the week. Goal-focused support is about changing what you are able to do over time. Many people combine the two.
How is it funded?
Often through Capacity Building supports in an NDIS plan, or Core supports depending on how the plan is set up. Private clients are welcome too.
