Community Access & Appointments
in the Illawarra
Get to appointments, run errands and get out into the community with confidence and less stress.

A specialist appointment across town. A trip to the bank that needs a real person. A club you used to go to and miss. Getting out is often the first thing to go when life gets harder, and it is one of the first things people want back.
Community access support is one-on-one help to get where you need to go and do what you want to do outside the house: appointments, errands, shopping, social outings, and simply being part of the community again. I come with you, help with the logistics, and stay for as long as you need.
Appointments without the stress
Medical and allied health appointments can be draining before you even arrive: the transport, the parking, the paperwork, the waiting room. I help plan the trip, get you there on time, sit with you if you would like company, and help you keep track of what was said and what happens next. Family members often find this the most reassuring support of all, because they know someone reliable is there.
Errands, shopping and everyday outings
Chemist, post office, shopping centre, Centrelink, the bank. These are ordinary trips that become a big deal when you are anxious about mobility, crowds or getting lost. With someone alongside, they become ordinary again.
Getting back into the community
Beyond the practical, community access is about connection. That might mean a weekly coffee at the same cafe, a walk along the beach, a library visit, a community group or a class. We start with what you enjoy and build from there, with the goal that outings become something you look forward to rather than worry about.
Every visit can include
- Transport and company to medical and allied health appointments
- Help with errands: chemist, post office, bank, Centrelink
- Shopping trips with support to carry and manage purchases
- Social outings, community groups, classes and clubs
- Planning the trip so it goes smoothly on the day
- Notes on what was discussed at appointments, if you want them
How it works
Getting started is simple.
Build your plan
A short questionnaire covers your needs, goals, routines and preferences. Fill it in privately or together, whichever feels more comfortable.
Align expectations
We have a relaxed conversation to clarify the details, answer your questions, and make sure we're both clear on what good support looks like for you.
Ongoing support
Support starts, one-on-one, with clear communication and the flexibility to adjust as your needs change over time.
Questions
About this support.
Do you provide the transport?
Yes, I can drive you to and from appointments and outings, or travel with you on public transport if you prefer. Transport arrangements and any costs are agreed before we start.
Will you come into the appointment with me?
If you would like me to. Some people prefer company in the room; others want me in the waiting area. Your choice, every time.
Can family come too?
Of course. Support is built around what works for you and the people around you.
